Founded in October 2019 by Michelle Adepoju, Kilentar is reinventing a wholly modern approach to the African fashion Space. Incorporating beads, cowries and African fabrics, Michelle is constantly drawing inspiration from elements found in different eras and culture, Kilentar strives to bridge the gap between traditional African designs and contemporary fashion.
Inspired by her British and Nigerian upbringing, Michelle uses a mix of culture from both worlds and molds them into creating statement pieces for women.
The freedom to create, the constant quest for beautiful materials, and the transmission of exceptional know-how – which enable the creation of useful, and elegant objects which stand the test of time – forge the uniqueness of Kilentar.
Working with indigenous artisans, independent and socially responsible, the company is committed to maintaining the majority of its production in Africa, while developing its international distribution network.
